"Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great..." this psalm starts out. It goes on to show how majestic He is in all of His glory. He created the earth and controls everything in the earth. He takes care of all of the livestock, fish, and birds by giving them water and feeding them when they need it. He brings food from the earth for both animals and man. He controls the heavenly lights, the moon, stars, and the sun. They all work according to His will and His plan.
vs. 27-35 closes with this...
"These all look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to dust.
When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.
May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works - he who looks at the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke.
I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.
But may sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more.
Praise the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord."
This is our heavenly Father! This is who we serve! He is awesome, mighty, powerful and majestic. He controls everything that happens in our universe. And yet He loves each one of us individually as much as His Son. He sent His Son to die for my sins, so that I could have direct access to Him as my heavenly Father. Because of that I can have the greatest peace on earth, knowing that my life is the Master's Hands! What a blessing!
